Ferrous or non-ferrous?
Ferrous metals contain iron. A quick test: if a fridge magnet sticks firmly, the metal is most likely ferrous. Some stainless steels are the exception and are only weakly magnetic or not magnetic at all.
How to book
Tell Brett the type of metal, an estimated quantity and your collection suburb. A photo helps. Collection arrangements are confirmed with you before anything is collected.
Practical recycling information
Understanding scrap metal grades
Scrap value and recovery options depend on the metal, contamination, preparation and current market conditions. A magnet can help with initial sorting but does not identify every alloy.
Before you contact us
- 1.Separate copper, aluminium, brass and steel where practical.
- 2.Identify insulated cable, mixed metal and attached non-metal parts.
- 3.Keep ownership or origin information available for controlled scrap.
- 4.Share approximate weights and location for a tailored quotation.
Common questions
Does a magnet identify every metal?
No. Some stainless steel grades are non-magnetic; professional grading may still be required.
Can you quote a fixed rate online?
Rates vary by grade, contamination, weight and market conditions. Brett confirms prices.
Do you buy all scrap metal?
Acceptance and any required proof of ownership are confirmed before collection.
